Water therapy is a simple use of commonly available water in day to day life. The results of water-therapy can be amazing that is why some people call it amazing-water-therapy. Water-therapy is available in a number of forms like cold-water-therapy, hot-water-therapy, drinking-water-therapy, water based exercises etc. Each of these water therapies have there own benefits but actual benefits are what you discover yourself by using a particular form of water-therapy.

Today water is treated as a useless drink. We have never taken water seriously, although it is available in plenty everywhere. We think it is useless when it comes to our health concerns but it is not so, water can provide all the benefits of a medicine. Even if we follow a single water-therapy for few days or months, we can discover some health benefits (specific to our own body) which are not easily available in market even after paying a huge price.

Role of Water in Our Body

In order to understand benefits-of-water and water-therapy we must understand role of water in a human body or even role of water in all forms of life. Water is the second most important element for existence of life on an planet or place after air. We can live without food for few days but without water we cannot survive for more than few hours. Today most of our common health problems are a result of lack of water in our body, we are using other alternative to quench our thirst instead of water like tea, coffee, energy drinks, soda etc.

Types of Water-Therapies

There are many types of water-therapies and each Therapy has its own specific uses and benefits like physical-water-therapy, cold-water-therapy, hot-water-therapy, drinking water-therapy etc. Anyone can use each one of them or the one which suits his individual nature, like drinking water-therapy or ayurvedic water-therapy is suitable to each one of us. In Ayurvedic-water-therapy we drink lot of water (approximately 1.25 litres) in early morning, before doing anything. Cold-water-therapy or using cold-water on body parts or washing some parts of body with cold-water can also help many of us, but how and where to use cold-water-therapy depends on place and personality as temperature across the globe vary and so does individual habits and body types.


Physical-water-therapy is use of water externally. It can be either hot or cold-water which can be used to wash a part of the body or to bath in cold or hot-water. Physical-water-therapy is external water-therapy and is not related to intake of water.


Using cold-water i.e. water commonly available, for baths also called ‘Ishaan Therapy’ is a part of cold-water-therapy.


Applying hot or humid water on a body part is hot-water-therapy, this is useful in treatment of pain and aches specific to a part of body like hand or leg.


Drinking water in a specific order like in ayurvedic-water-therapy or drinking plenty of water from time to time everyday is a part of drinking-water-therapy. Drinking-water-therapy has a number of health benefits which depends on specific problems associated with a person due to lack of water in person.

This article is just a brief idea on types-of-water-therapies and there health benefits. There are many health benefits of  which is available to all of us free of cost. Only condition for drinking-water-therapy is that water must be potable for other water-therapies it depends on individual habits and present environment.
